How did you get into racing?
I have ridden bikes since I was a kid to get to the pool or buy a slushie. But after moving to SoCal in 2003, I raced a 12-HR MTB race at Snow Summit in ’04 on a whim with a 4-women team and loved it. We had no idea what was going on, I crashed a ton, but through the connections there, I was able to race mountain bikes all the way to the professional level then transition to the road in 2010.
What and where is your favorite race?
Tour de Murrietta Time Trial here in Southern California because it is half dirt!
How many years have you been with the iPA-Sports program?
2015 will be my 3rd year racing in the team colors. However, I have been involved with the team since it’s inception and Paul asked me to start tweeting the races and media coverage.
What do you look forward to most about cycling?
The process of learning new ways to be challenged physically and mentally. Being a cyclists is an ever-evolving process and it is exciting to learn new tactics, tricks and training methods. And even more exciting to implement them!
If you could vacation anywhere, where would you go?
Nantucket or Cape Cod! I know it’s probably cold. But I would just drink lattes with a blanket by the fire and listen to waves crashing on the shoreline. And no electronics allowed!
Favorite post-ride meal
Yams and kale or Mexican food. Plus anything made by Wonka…
What are your hobbies
Food! Our dog Moto, TRX and coffee
